why bother taking pictures??

recently, i acquired a bunch of developed pictures from someone who passed away. what was interesting was that these photos had been sitting in someone’s basement for 20 straight years.

flipping through these, i could see moments of happiness and accomplishments as well as candid moments of life. but what was the point? why bother taking pictures if they’re just going to sit in a box for 20 years, never looked back upon?

personally, i do sometimes appreciate having pictures taken from a few years back, i do feel like i would’ve regretted it if i never captured the moment.
